Re: [californiadisasters] Thomas Incident - Ventura County

Tomorrow morning should be very revealing.    This has been one of the fastest moving fires in a long time.   Within a few hours, it's made it all the way to the 101 and 33 Junction.   Not much more left to go before the ocean.

The fire is now into Santa Paula, Ventura, & Ojai simultaneously. The fire is now fully into Ventura as an urban conflagration. Per a VCFD BC in the area of Sunset & Lincoln, there are upwards of 50 structures burning in that neighborhood alone.

A short time ago the Incident Commander put this at 25,000 acres. Ops reports multiple structures on fire in Sexton Canyon. People trapped in the Grant Park area. Full evacs and hard closure on Foothill from Main to some other main artery I could not make out.

has very long-range spotted downwind to Grant Park. 4 Type-1 strike teams ordered up as first-in engine has been forced to retreat from mid-slope road. 50 acres bearing down on a neighborhood. No ability to go direct on this fire.

All I can say is...Not again.  Please.  Sure hope that a miracle comes by and steers that wind down the uninhabited bits!!

Best wishes to all down that way....
