Re: [californiadisasters] So many fires....so much destruction!

Pam ,
What about help for all of the animals too?
I'm weeping ~~ the San Diego Union paper (just one photo)~ speechless.
I can't help much, but will do what I can.  Donated all extra things for the 2007 fires here in San Diego.
Where can people I ask take things?   I'll jump on my neighborhood site and see what can be accomplished.

I'm not even going to try and describe it all.  If you've been keeping an eye on the news, you know that the wine country is in shit so deep that even the city of Calistoga has been evacuated.  Over here in Butte County, we're doing a bit better--or at least somewhat calmer.

If you want to help, donate.  These people--over 30,000 so far in shelters!--are going to need such a wide variety of supplies and 'stuff' and help that material goods are going to be a problem more than a solution.  Donate what you can; even a dollar or two will help.  Recovery from this is going to be long, hard, and these folks are going to need mental health assistance, as will many of the responders, I 'm sure.

Steve Detweiler had an excellent emergency managers report the other day, recommended viewing.

We can but hope that the fires are controlled quickly as more resources arrive and are put on the line.

To those of you out there fighting, helping, hauling, weeping....we're with you.
