The second video is intriguing.   It's difficult to discern any pattern (what was the huge quake ~2005?) but it appears that the level of routing quakes hasn't changed over this time period.  But if you watch carefully the medium to large quakes appear to be on the rise.  I do note that the ocean areas are not well represented (SoPac being one), so maybe there is room for improvements?

Pretty cool stuff, it puts things down at my level.
