[californiadisasters] On This Date In California Weather History (November 3)



2010: Strong high pressure and offshore flow led to all-time November record high temperatures on this day and 11/4.
In Riverside, the temperature of 99° F on this day tied and the 101° F reading on 11/4 broke all time November records.
On this day it was 101° F in Santa Ana, equaling the highest November temperature on record.
And it was 96° F in Laguna Beach, the second highest November temperature on record.

2007:
Patchy dense fog resulted in an 86 vehicle pile-up on Highway 99 northbound just north of Fowler between Clovis and American Avenues (in Fresno Co.).
Two people were killed and 41 were injured in the early morning wreck.

2002: Dense fog developed in south LA.
194 vehicles were involved on two pileups on the 710 freeway.
There were 0 deaths and 41 injuries.

1997: Gilroy had a high temperature of 94
° F -- a record for the month

1994: Waterspouts were reported over Lake Tahoe.

1993: Santa Ana winds gusted to over 60 mph from 11.2 through 11.4.
The Old Topanga fire burned from Calabasas to the ocean consuming hundreds of homes.

1973: A waterspout was reported on Pyramid Lake, NV (Truckee River Basin sink).

1949: High of 90° F in Bakersfield.
There were three days in November 1949 (the 3rd, 5th and 6th) with a high of 90° F or better, a record for the month of November.
