2008: Santa Ana winds blew from 11.15 to 11.19.
Winds gusted over 70 mph in the Santa Ana Mountains and over 60 mph in the northern Inland Empire.
The Freeway Complex Fire burned from Corona through Chino Hills and Yorba Linda.
This fire destroyed or damaged over 300 homes and four businesses.
More than 30,000 acres burned and more than 40,000 evacuated.

1996: Big Sur received 7.05" of rain -- a record for the month.


1996: 12" of snow fell at Mammoth Lakes Ranger Station.

1987: Winds gust to 100 mph at Wheeler Ridge (Grapevine Area).

1986: An early season storm that started on this day and ended on 11.18 brought 1.16 inches of rain to San Diego, more rain that falls during a normal entire November.
Other totals: Montgomery Field 1.49", 1.21" at Mt. Laguna, 1.07" at Miramar, 1.03" in Oceanside, and 0.41" in Chula Vista.
Numerous traffic accidents and a few power outages resulted.
The San Diego River flooded causing many road closures in Mission Valley.
Street flooding occurred in North Park, Midway, and in Encinitas.
A mudslide blocked Malibu Canyon road.
A traffic accident claimed two lives in LA.

1964: Earliest measurable snowfall at China Lake Naval Air Station, 0.3".

1964: 2.5" of snow fell in Victorville on this, the earliest date in the season to record measurable snowfall.
It was 23° F in Palm Springs, the lowest temperature on record for November.

1958: Paso Robles 14° F, Pismo Beach 29° F, all-time record lows for the month.

1958: The morning low temperature at Reno, NV was 1° F.

1958: It was 10° F in Idyllwild, the lowest temperature on record for November.
This also occurred on 11.19.1964.

1955: 13" of snow fell at Tahoe City.

1912: In Redding the rainfall for the season to date was 16.65".
The previous season it was 1.07".

1900: November soaker: 2.34" of rain fell in Fresno, a record for a November calendar day.
