Re: [californiadisasters] NWS-NTWC Tsunami Information Statement

I was listening for the traffic reports on
KNX1070AM (24x7 news) as I was driving home
around 8:30 PM and they were mentioning the Chile
earthquake (8.0+) and they mentioned the tsunami.

Their web site says that there is an advisory
that went into effect at 6:45 pm local time for
coastal areas from San Onofre State Beach to
Ragged Point in SLO county. Estimated tsunami
start times would begin Thursday morning as early
as 4:46 am for Newport Beach; 4:47 am for the Los
Angeles harbor; 5:06 am for Santa Barbara, and 5:10 for Port San Luis.

The radio mentioned that the tsunami would
produce maybe one foot high waves and no
flooding, and that there had been an alert issued
for Hawaii but it had been cancelled.
