2002: The Cannon Fire burned over 22,000 acres in Mono County, CA, and Douglas County, NV.

1995:
An F0 tornado touched down just northwest of Edwards Air Force Base throwing around dust and vegetation.

1994: It was 105° F in Escondido, the highest temperature on record for June.
This also occurred on 6.18.1957 and 6.11.1979.

1990: Strong high pressure produced a remarkable heat wave.
A late afternoon Sundowner wind helped LA reach 112° F, the highest reading since records began in 1877.

1981: Highest minimum temperature records were set in San Diego each day for 11 consecutive days ending on this day.

1974: It was 99° F in Idyllwild, the highest temperature on record for June.

1965: It was 31° F in Palomar Mountain, the latest date in the season with a freezing temperature on record.

1961: This was the 10th consecutive day of temperatures in Las Vegas, NV, reaching 110° F or hotter making this the longest on record.


1957:
It was 121° F in Palm Springs, the highest temperature on record for June.
This also occurred two days earlier on 6.24 and on 6.29.1994.

1911: King City reported a low temperature of 31
° F.

Weather Factoid: No precip has ever been recorded on this date in Yuma, AZ.
