New Program Comes to NOVA: Sinkholes—Buried Alive

Sinkholes, the underground menace that can swallow you and your loved ones without warning, will be featured in a documentary that premieres on NOVA on Wednesday, January 28th.
According to the NOVA's website, the program will highlight incidents such as the 2013 sinkhole in Florida that swallowed Jeffrey Bush as he slept, and the massive sinkhole in Assumption Parish, Louisiana that has already swallowed 31 acres and is still growing.
These worldwide geological hazards, which have swallowed highways, apartment buildings, horses, camels, even golfers, lurk wherever limestone and other water-soluble rocks underpin the soil.
Containing terrifying eyewitness video of dramatic collapses, and following scientists as they explore the underlying forces behind these natural disasters, NOVA travels the globe to investigate what it's like to have your world vanish beneath your feet.
