MENLO PARK, Calif.— The U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Program will be hosting an annual workshop to facilitate communication and research collaboration among scientists from the USGS and other institutions studying earthquakes in northern California. Members of the news media are invited to attend the non-technical sessions on the second day of the 2015 workshop for a first-hand glimpse into current research on the magnitude 6 South Napa earthquake, including lessons learned for future large earthquakes. 

What:

12th Annual Northern California Earthquake Hazards Technical Workshop:

Oral presentations, posters, and panel discussions on earthquake hazards in the East Bay and the earthquake recovery in Napa.

Who:

  • USGS earthquake research scientists.
  • Earthquake hazard specialists, emergency responders, and planners with other government agencies.
  • Researchers and engineers from universities and private companies.

When:
