Forecast: 'Warm, warm, warm and warm'

(04-29) 08:44 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- Temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees higher than average Monday and it will be "warm, warm, warm and warm" all week, a National Weather Service meteorologist said.

"We are expecting temperatures inland to get up into the upper 80s and low 90s," said meteorologist Christine Riley. "So, well above normal."

It's unlikely any high-temperature records will be set Monday except perhaps in San Rafael, which is forecast to top out at 88 degrees, one degree short of the 1957 record.

But for the rest of the week, records are definitely in jeopardy, Riley said.

"Every day this week there is a possibility," she said. "Tuesday will be warm. Wednesday looks warm as well. Thursday, warm. Friday, warm - actually, it looks like Friday might be the warmest day of the week."

Downright hot, actually, especially inland, where highs in the upper 90s are forecast. San Francisco could see the 80s.

A high-pressure bubble over the Eastern Pacific is keeping the air still and warm, Riley said.

"Oh, I'm going to the beach after work," Riley said. "We live so close, why not?"
