...FIRST NOTABLE SANTA ANA WIND EVENT OF THE SEASON...    ...GUSTY SUNDOWNER WINDS WILL AFFECT PORTIONS OF THE SANTA YNEZ  MOUNTAINS AND SANTA BARBARA SOUTH COAST...    GUSTY NORTHWEST TO NORTH WINDS WILL AFFECT PORTIONS OF THE SANTA  BARBARA COUNTY MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT SOUTH COAST THIS EVENING  INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. NORTHERLY WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE  IN AREAL COVERAGE AND STRENGTH ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY  MORNING...WHEN A WIND ADVISORY WILL LIKELY BE POSTED FOR PORTIONS OF LOS  ANGELES AND SANTA BARBARA COUNTIES.    OUR FIRST SIGNIFICANT AND WIDESPREAD SANTA ANA WIND EVENT IS THEN  ON TAP FROM THURSDAY EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...IMPACTING MUCH  OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES. THERE WILL BE THE POTENTIAL  FOR DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 60 MPH ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS OF LOS ANGELES  AND VENTURA COUNTIES INCLUDING THE SANTA MONICA RANGE. AS THE  EVENT GETS CLOSER...WIND ADVISORIES WILL LIKELY BE NEEDED FOR THE  WIND PRONE COAST AND VALLEY AREAS. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOS ANGELES/OXNARD HAS ISSUED A  WIND ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM PDT WEDNESDAY.    * WINDS AND TIMING...GUSTY NORTHWEST TO NORTH WINDS 15 TO 30 MPH    WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH WILL AFFECT THE SANTA YNEZ MOUNTAIN RANGE    THIS EVENING. THE ADJACENT SANTA BARBARA WIND PRONE PASSES AND    CANYONS WILL ALSO BE AFFECTED WITH WIND GUSTS TO 35 MPH...MAINLY    FROM GAVIOTA TO GOLETA. WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE NORTH TO    NORTHEAST LATER TONIGHT BRINGING LOCAL WINDY CONDITIONS TO THE    HILLS OF MONTECITO THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.    * IMPACTS...WINDS THIS STRONG COULD MAKE DRIVING    DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. MAJOR ROADWAYS    THAT COULD BE IMPACTED INCLUDE HIGHWAYS 101...154 AND    192...ESPECIALLY NEAR GAVIOTA...SAN MARCOS PASS AND BELOW THE    HILLS OF MONTECITO.    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...    A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 35 MPH OR GREATER ARE  EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...  ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
