RE: [Geology2] Volcanic Eye Candy



I was trying to figure out what shoes you’d have to wear.  Rubber soled would melt, leather wouldn’t release accumulated heat (hot foot!) and you certainly don’t want steel reinforced boots.  ;-)  Feets, don’t fail me now!

 

My next camera (another year or so) will very likely be in the $3k+ ranges but I can write it off.

This was me last month! It's like sticking your face in a furnace! I doubt he was allowed to be too close. Some of those pictures were taken from the CVO observatory, another from the rim of Kileaua Iki which is a ways off. There are very strict rules in place about where you are allowed to be. What amazes me is the power of these cameras! You have to be very careful around the active flows with technology, it's a great way to ruin your 1200$ camera.
