Initial attack activity has been light today with no new large fires.

POZO CA-LPF-006481 Queen Bee, Friis, Turkey Flat and Navajo Campgrounds will

be re-open tomorrow. Pozo Road at the forest boundary, Navajo Road at Park Hill and the

Navajo staging area will also be re-open.

KEYS CA-JTP-12782 120 acres. Fire started 8/25 in Joshua Tree National Park,

San Bernardino County in federal response area Keys View Road, at the center of the

Joshua Tree National Park in mixed fuels. Fire is lined and ground resources continue

to patrol due to excessive heat.

The San Bernardino National Forest will be constructing, reconditioning and repairing

drainage structures, aggregate surfaces and short sections of asphalt paving along 5 miles

of Forest Road 2N10 beginning at its west end one mile south of the intersection of

Mill Creek Road at Tulip Lane and continuing east across the ridgeline of south Big Bear

To Club View Drive near Bear Mountain Ski Area. The project starts on September 7th and will

continue for approximately 60 days.

Yesterday a series of large thunderstorms triggered numerous lightning down strikes, igniting

numerous fires in San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego Counties. The combination

of aggressive IA along with accompanying rainfall held these fires to 3 acres or less.

POST CA-KRN-024500 1,312 acres, 76% contained. Yesterday, firefighters completed

a planned burning operation to reduce pockets of unburned fuels inside the fire line.

Rehabilitation of areas damaged by suppression activity is on-going and should be

completed by tomorrow evening.
